Approximately 650 members experienced a power outage last night in the Nelson/Tate area of south Pickens/north Cherokee counties. Lightning struck a piece of equipment inside the Reavis Mtn substation, which is located on old Hwy 5 not far from the Pickens/Cherokee county line, affecting all members who are supplied by Circuit #4.
Crews were dispatched and all power was restored by 9:00 pm.
