Broken pole causes outage in Pickens County
An automobile accident around 9:00 am this morning has resulted in two broken poles on Hill City Road near Hill Circle in Pickens County. Currently 235 members are without power. Areas affected are Mullinax Road, Hill Circle, Gibson Trail and others. This is the third time within the past 1 1/2 weeks that a vehicle has struck the same pole, resulting in a loss of power.
Crews are working now to replace the poles. We appreciate the patience of our members and all power will be restored just as soon as is safely possible.

Amicalola EMC calls on young leaders to help stop the spread of COVID-19
We’ve seen a substantial rise in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in our service area within the past two to three weeks. This rise has resulted in the closing of our office lobby at all three locations, restricting entry to all our facilities, and other measures to keep our members and our employees safe. We all have a role to play in stopping the spread.
This is a shout-out to all our current and past Washington Youth Tour winners and runners up and all current and past AEMC scholarship winners; every student we’ve honored in the past. You’ve already proven yourself to be a leader. Now you have another chance to lead. To help stop the spread, we’ve all been asked to wear a mask, social distance, practice good hand hygiene and follow the guidelines set forth by the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control. Within your circle of influence, be a leader and first of all, make sure you are following all these guidelines, then encourage your friends, family and everyone you come in contact with to do the same. It’s up to each of us to do our part to stop the spread. #stopthespread -
