11:50 PM – we are down to 1,400 members without power. The rain has persisted, but our crews will continue their efforts to restore power as quickly and as safely as possible. 9:00 PM Severe storms and extremely strong winds have brought trees and power lines down across primarily Gilmer, Pickens and Cherokee counties. The notification below was sent out by the Gilmer Sheriff’s office.
Right now we have 3631 members out at 92 separate locations. 7 of these outages are large, with from 100 to 986 members out, so that accounts for several hundred members. The rest are smaller, widespread scattered outages. We have crews assigned to almost all the large outages. All power will be restored as soon as is safely possible.
