Storm Update – August 17, 2024

Crews have worked all night, as conditions would allow, and we’re down to just over 700 members out. Thank you for your patience and your support. As you know, with winds like we had last evening, it’s going to bring trees down. We are only allowed to clear a 30 foot right of way, typically 15 feet to either side of the wire. In our rural area, so many trees are tall enough that they are going to bring the lines down, and many times break a pole, when they fall. More developed urban areas don’t face this challenge as often as we do here. We will continue working to get all power restored as soon as is safely possible.
