Energy Savings for Your Home or Small Business

Are you seeking ways to save energy and reduce costs? Amicalola EMC can assist you! We participate in the Rural Energy Savings Program (RESP), a loan initiative designed for qualified residential and commercial members. This program, created by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, aims to help rural families and small businesses decrease energy consumption and lower electric bills.

Loan Details:

  • Amount: Borrow up to $10,000
  • Interest Rate: 2.5%
  • Repayment Period: 7 years

Eligible Projects: Funds can be used for a variety of energy-saving upgrades, including:

  • Lighting: LED lighting for small businesses, poultry houses, and residences
  • Fan Motors: Replacement of old, inefficient fan motors in small businesses and poultry houses
  • Refrigeration Compressors: Upgrading outdated refrigeration compressors in grocery stores and poultry facilities
  • Building Envelope Improvements:
    • Air sealing (walls, floors, ceilings)
    • Attic ventilation
    • Upgrading doors, windows, and insulation
  • Water Heating: Heat pump-style water heaters for residential and commercial use
  • Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC): Installation of systems with a minimum of 16 SEER

Application Process: To qualify, applicants must meet certain credit criteria and sign a promissory note and deed to secure the loan. Payments will be added to your monthly electric bill.
