2:00 PM outage update

2:00 p.m. Update
We are currently down to 3,466 members out of power at 173 separate locations, across six of the counties within our ten county service area. Gilmer County now has 3188 members out of power, and the other 5 counties have outages that number below 150. It is important to note that Gilmer County also has more Amicalola EMC members than any other county we serve.
We are having some issues with our Automated Outage Management System. This is causing some locations to appear restored that are not and vice versa, some locations to appear out of power that actually have power. In addition, we are aware that some members are having difficulty as they try to report a power outage.
We are aware of those issues and are working to resolve them. Thank you for your patience as we continue to battle these outages in extreme heat. We have obtained an additional EMC line crew from Tallapoosa River Electric in Alabama.
We will continue to update you as information becomes available, but remember you can view the outages and crew assignments in real-time on our website at www.amicalolaemc.com and also on our mobile app which is available from the App store or on Google Play.
