12:00 PM update: 752 members affected at 26 separate locations.
Amicalola EMC crews and contract crews are still working to remedy the broken poles and issues found early this morning. We have encountered additional broken poles on Rock House Rd in Dahlonega and on Cherokee Forest Park Dr off of Reavis Mtn Rd in Pickens. Lines have been found on the ground off of Rutledge Ln in Cherokee (Clayton Community). We suspect there may be a broken pole in this area as well. Let this be a reminder to stay clear of downed power lines, and always assume they are energized. Do not go near them, and do not drive over them.
Crews will continue to work safely to restore all power. We are making great progress right now, but with increasing wind additional outages may occur. We will update our members here on Facebook and on our website as the day progresses.
A big thank you to our linemen and support personnel for braving this storm, and a big thank you to our members for your support, understanding and your prayers. Thank you all for being #WeatherAware and staying safe!
