Thursday, January 22, 2026 – A winter storm watch remains in effect for our service area from late Friday night through Monday morning. Amicalola EMC will continue to monitor the forecast and make necessary preparations in the event severe weather impacts our area. Currently, this watch includes predictions of 0.25 to 0.75 inches of ice accumulation, with snow or sleet amounts of an inch or less. Power outages may occur due to ice on power lines and trees, and travel could be very dangerous.
Before the storm arrives, take time to prepare now. Have water, nonperishable food items, batteries and medications on hand. Be sure to charge essential devices ahead of time.
If you rely on oxygen or other medical equipment please have a plan in place in case power is unavailable for several days. Stay safe and remain #WeatherAware ⚠️
