July 29, 2026 Outage Update

Our service area was hit last night by a strong storm system. There was unprecedent amounts of lightning, strong winds and rain, with talks of a possible tornado in Pickens County. After the storm, our outage count was roughly 9,000 around midnight.
Currently, we have 2,749 members without power at 122 separate locations. Crews have worked through the night and will continue to do so until power is restored.
Right now, we are aware of at least 5 broken poles in the following counties:
Gilmer
One 3 phase pole around Vista Dr, Old Tails Creek Rd and Hancock Dr area
One single phase pole at Weeks Rd and Pete Kell Rd
Gordon
Three broken single phase poles past Pearl Johnson Rd on HWY 53 West
Thank you for your continued patience as we work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Remember, if you encounter a downed power line, always assume it is energized and do not go near it. To report an outage, please call 706-253-0359 OR 706-276-0359 OR 706-864-0359. You can also report an outage through the online member portal or on the Amicalola EMC app.

We are down to 1,875 members without power. Crews continue to work after last night's storm. We are up to 8 broken poles. Crews from North Georgia EMC and GreyStone Power are lending a helping hand, which we very much appreciate!

Hwy 108 has one broken pole close to Stancil Rd
Gilmer
One pole on New Liberty Ln
One three phase pole on Chatsworth Hwy at Moonlight Rd

There are roughly 1,000 members still without power at this time. The majority of those remaining are in Gilmer County. We are grateful to our crews and those that have come to assist from sister co-ops. Linemen, ROW crews, dispatchers, member service representatives and other support personnel - we thank you!!
