Gusty Wind Causes Power Outages

December 30, 2024 Today's strong wind gusts continue to cause power outages, with numbers steadily increasing. Currently, more than 3,000 members are without power. Reports of downed trees are coming in. We urge everyone to exercise caution while traveling this afternoon and evening. Planned Power Outage in Big Canoe

Amicalola EMC will be performing necessary maintenance in the Big Canoe area on Thursday, January 2 from 8 AM - 1 PM. This outage will last approximately 5 hours and will affect the following streets: Quail Cove, Canada Geese Point, Indigo Bunting Trail, Tanger Way, Grouse Gap Drive, Green Heron Point, Wood Duck Way and Mallard Cove. Amicalola EMC visits Pickens County Head Start

Planned Outage for Necessary Updates

On Wednesday, December 4th Amicalola EMC will be updating wire in the area from HWY 53 along New Town Street to the railroad tracks at Stargel Street and Prince Street. Weather permitting, work in this area will start around 9 AM and last roughly 4 hours. To those consumers that will be directly affected by this planned outage, we thank you for your patience as we perform needed updates in your area.



Amicalola EMC to Perform Tree Trimming in Bent Tree Community

Starting later this week, Amicalola EMC will have right of way maintenance crews in the Bent Tree Community trimming trees along the powerlines that serve your home. You may experience some blinking lights during this time. There may also be brief power interruptions. Amicalola EMC will make every effort to keep these instances to a minimum. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we perform this necessary maintenance work during the next few weeks.
