12:00 PM update: 752 members affected at 26 separate locations. Amicalola EMC crews and contract crews are still working to remedy the broken poles and issues found early this morning. We have encountered additional broken poles on Rock House Rd in Dahlonega and on Cherokee Forest Park Dr off of Reavis Mtn Rd in Pickens. Lines have been found on the ground off of Rutledge Ln in Cherokee (Clayton Community). We suspect there may be a broken pole in this area as well. Let this be a reminder...

Currently, there are 1,061 members without power across our service territory. We still have two broken poles in Bent Tree off of Fairway Drive that we are aware of. After speaking with Bent Tree Safety, we will be awaiting their go ahead after they have a chance to salt the roads this morning. After a relatively calm day of watching the snow fall, the ice arrived shortly thereafter. Accumulations vary across our service territory and the wind has recently picked up. The Winter Storm Warning effecting our area means a mix of multiple winter precipitation types are expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to 3 inches and ice accumulation up to one third of an inch are possible in our area. This warning is in effect until 7 AM Saturday.
